The Kitchen Team Lead is an important role at Red Rabbit helping to prepare thousands of meals to students. Essential Functions:

  • Lead a small team in dicing, chopping, mixing, measuring, steaming, and cooking a variety of ingredients every day

  • Assist in preparation of hotline to serve our classic meals

  • Scale recipes for large volume preparations

  • Ensure food safety guidelines are followed in every step including following proper sanitation and hygiene rules and proper temping of food items

  • Ensure production guidelines and yields are followed

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in high volume of cooking in kitchens

  • Excellent knife skills - speed and efficiency is a must

  • NYC Food Handlers certificate required

  • Ability to bring cooking tools required/ Lift 50 lbs or more

  • Team lead or management experience a plus


  • Must be reliable, function well within a team and work calmly and efficiently in a fast moving environment.

  • Must have strong communication and problem solving skills, be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and have a positive attititude

  • This candidate must share our passion for nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

Job Type: Full time.

Typical hours: Sunday - Friday 6am-2pm

Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000
